Welcome to logicalfallacies.org (the "Site"), operated by Logical Fallacies ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Site, including all content, features, educational tools, and any purchases made through our store.
By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Site.
1. Eligibility and Accounts
General Eligibility
The Site is available to users of all ages. Certain features, including account registration, educational tools, and store purchases, may have additional age-related requirements as described below.
Age Requirements
- Users aged 13 and older may register for an account and access all Site features.
- Users under 13 may access publicly available educational content (fallacy and bias reference pages) without registration. Account registration and use of interactive tools by users under 13 requires verifiable parental consent in accordance with COPPA. See our Privacy Policy for details.
- Store purchases may only be made by individuals who are 18 years of age or older, or by minors with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
Account Registration
When you register for an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information, including a truthful age confirmation.
- Choose a role designation (student or educator) that accurately reflects your use.
- Keep your login credentials confidential and not share your account with others.
- Notify us promptly if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Educator Accounts
Educators who register for an account may access tools and resources designed for classroom use, including lesson plans, classroom materials, and educator-specific features. Educators are responsible for ensuring their use of the Site and its tools complies with any applicable institutional policies and laws, including those governing student data in educational settings (e.g., FERPA).
Student Accounts
Students who register for an account may access tools and resources designed for learning, including quizzes, interactive exercises, and study tools. Students under 13 are subject to the additional protections described in our Privacy Policy.
2. Use of the Site
Permitted Uses
You may use the Site for lawful, personal, and educational purposes, including:
- Reading and learning from our reference content on logical fallacies and cognitive biases.

We offer physical and digital products for sale through our store, including but not limited to posters, flashcards, reference guides, mugs, and other educational merchandise.
Pricing and Availability
- All prices are listed in U.S. Dollars unless otherwise indicated.
- We reserve the right to change prices, modify product offerings, and discontinue products at any time.
- Product availability is not guaranteed. In the event an item is out of stock or unavailable, we will notify you and offer a refund or alternative.
Orders and Payment
- By placing an order, you represent that you are authorized to use the payment method provided and that the billing information you provide is accurate.
- Payment is processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not store your credit card information. See our Privacy Policy for details.
- An order confirmation email does not constitute acceptance of your order. We reserve the right to cancel orders due to pricing errors, suspected fraud, or product unavailability.
Shipping and Fulfillment
- Physical products may be fulfilled by a third-party print-on-demand or fulfillment partner (e.g., Printful).
- Shipping times and costs vary by location and product. Estimated delivery times are provided at checkout but are not guaranteed.
- Risk of loss and title for physical products pass to you upon delivery to the carrier.
- We are not responsible for delays caused by the carrier, customs processing, or circumstances beyond our control.
Returns and Refunds
- Digital products are non-refundable once delivered or downloaded.
- Physical products may be returned or exchanged if they arrive damaged, defective, or materially different from the product description. Contact us at support@logicalfallacies.org within 14 days of delivery.
- Custom or personalized items are non-refundable unless defective.
- Refunds will be issued to the original payment method within a reasonable timeframe after we receive and inspect the returned item (if applicable).
5. Intellectual Property
Site Content
All content on the Site — including but not limited to text, definitions, explanations, examples, graphics, logos, page layouts, and educational tool designs — is the property of Logical Fallacies or its content creators and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
Permitted Use
- You may quote or reference small portions of our content for personal, educational, or noncommercial purposes, provided you include clear attribution to logicalfallacies.org and a link to the original page.
- Educators may use and print reasonable portions of our content for classroom instruction, provided such use is noncommercial and includes attribution.
Prohibited Use
- You may NOT reproduce, republish, or redistribute substantial portions of Site content without our prior written permission.
- You may NOT use Site content to create competing products, services, or websites.
- You may NOT remove or alter any copyright notices, trademarks, or attribution from Site content.
User Content
If you submit content to the Site (e.g., through feedback forms or future community features), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and incorporate that content into the Site. You represent that you have the right to grant this license and that your content does not infringe on the rights of any third party.
Trademarks
The name "Logical Fallacies," the logicalfallacies.org domain, and any associated logos or branding are our trademarks or service marks. You may not use them without our prior written permission.

10. Email Communications and Newsletters
Opt-In Consent

Transactional Emails

Unsubscribe

CAN-SPAM Compliance

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the Site shall be resolved as follows:
- Informal Resolution: You agree to first contact us at support@logicalfallacies.org and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days before initiating any formal proceeding.
- Jurisdiction: If informal resolution is unsuccessful, you agree that any legal action shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles, California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
12. Modifications to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes:
- We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
- We will post a notice on the Site.
- For registered users, we will provide notice via email for significant changes.
Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the modified Terms, you must stop using the Site.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site or your account at our sole discretion, without prior notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms or is harmful to the Site, other users, or third parties.
Upon termination:
